Having failed to find the target in Real’s final two games of the 2023-24 campaign, Bellingham opened the new season with a 12-game run that saw him draw a blank in the final third. Questions were asked about his diminishing output, but he has been shifted deeper for new ‘Galactico’ Kylian Mbappe to lead the line.
WHAT BELLINGHAM SAID
Bellingham was back among the goals in Real’s 4-0 demolition of Osasuna – as Vinicius Junior bagged a hat-trick – and told reporters afterwards when addressing his lack of end product: “I played as I always do, but this time I scored a goal. There was a lot of talk about me because I scored a lot of goals last season, but my role has changed this season to other areas of the pitch.
“I will do anything for the good of the team. I have been less selfish and I would like to continue like this. My objective is to help the team in any way I can.”

The odd fitness setback has done little to aid Bellingham’s cause this season, but he is now fit and firing and will be hoping to make a positive contribution in England’s upcoming UEFA Nations League fixtures before returning to Madrid.
