The Premier League returns this weekend after a short international break that for once kept us entertained!
England’s 3-2 in Spain once again captured the hearts of the nation, but now attention returns to the domestic league and for many fans, Fantasy Premier League.
Many FPL managers sensibly wait until all international games are over before making transfers ahead of the weekend’s fixtures, just in case of injuries, just ask Mo Salah owners.
With Chelsea entertaining Man United on Saturday lunchtime in Gameweek Nine, many managers will be looking for alternatives to bolster their chances of scoring big points.
Scroll through with us as we take a look at the players you need to be considering bringing in to do just that.
Raheem Sterling
Fresh from his England heroics on Monday night, Man City’s Raheem Sterling goes into this weekend’s fixture with huge confidence.
Playing at home to Burnley, you can expect City’s players to be among the goals on Saturday afternoon.
Infamous for his rotation policy, Pep Guardiola has actually only left Sterling out once this season, so you can expect him to start the game.
Benjamin Mendy
Another Man City player worth considering is left-back Benjamin Mendy who made his comeback from injury in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool last time out.
City will surely keep a clean sheet against Burnley at the Etihad, so Mendy will be good for at least six points, should he avoid a yellow card.
The Frenchman was left out of his nation’s UEFA Nations League fixtures because of his recent comeback, so you can expect him to be fresh this weekend.
Gylfi Sigurdsson v Crystal Palace
One of the most in-form players going into this weekend’s fixtures and with a favourable home game, Gylfi Sigurdsson is an almost certainty this week.
At home to Crystal Palace on Sky Sports’ Super Sunday fixture, Sigurdsson’s Everton face a side that is struggling to score goals and win games.
Richarlison Return?
After a great start to the season, Richarlison has been rather quite in recent weeks but was given a new role by Marco Silva in Gameweek eight, a role in which saw him back on the scoresheet.
Spearheading the Everton attack, the Brazilian opened the scoring for the Toffees away at Leicester. So like Sigurdsson we are predicting a big week for Richarlison.
Doherty v Watford
To be fair, you could probably add any of Wolves’ defenders here, but Matt Doherty is the best pick of the bunch.
At £4.7 million, the right-back loves to get forward and scored the winner against Crystal Palace last time out.
Doherty is joint-fifth highest scorer in Fantasy Premier League so far this season.
Patricio In Goal
Like his defenders in front of him, Rui Patricio has been in top form at the start of this season.
The Portuguese goalkeeper has claimed four bonus points in the previous two gameweeks.
Lacazette v Leicester Instead Of Aubameyang
Arsenal’s forwards have been in prolific form in recent weeks, scoring eight goals between them (four each).
But for us it has to be the Frenchman for this weekend’s game against Leicester.
Lacazette is £1.1 million cheaper and hasn’t been away on international duty, whereas Aubameyang has been helping Gabon in qaulifying for African Cup Of Nations action.
