Everton’s ambition is to challenge the Premier League’s top six and become a force again in English football.
Over the years it has become clear that having significant financial clout is required to compete at the top level.
In February 2016, Farhad Moshiri bought a 49.9% stake in the Merseyside outfit and injected plenty of cash for transfers.
On the pitch, things have not always ran smoothly and the club have had three different managers in the past year.
However, the club made a statement of intent on Tuesday when they announced via their official website that Moshiri has increased his shareholding to 68.6%, and it is expected to rise to 77.2% by July 2019 – something that will prove to Marco Silva that he is in good hands at Goodison Park.
Speculation regarding the ownership of Everton has been rife ever since Alisher Usmanov sold his shares in Arsenal.

The 65-year-old has been a long-standing business partner of Moshiri, and some supporters put two and two together when he left Arsenal.
However, there has been no concrete suggestion that Usmanov plans to invest in Everton.
The news about Moshiri increasing his stake has left plenty of Everton fans excited, while some still believe that Usmanov will get involved.
