Celtic target Ahmed Kendouci has handed in a transfer request, according to The Daily Record.
The Lowdown: Celtic links with Kendouci
The Hoops have already added to their midfield ranks in 2022, with the signings of Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi making up two of their four January acquisitions so far.

Both made their debuts in Celtic’s 2-0 win over Hibernian on Monday, but it seems as if Ange Postecoglou wants even more when it comes to his midfield ranks.
A move for Riley McGree collapsed last week, with links to ES Setif’s Kendouci also emerging in recent days. The 22-year-old can play centrally and on the left, and it seems as if he could be keen on a move to Scotland.
The Latest: Transfer request submitted
The Daily Record provided an update on Kendouci at 10:29am in their Tuesday transfer blog.
They suggested that the midfielder has now submitted a transfer request in a bid to force through a transfer amid links of a move to Celtic, as well as their Glasgow arch-rivals Rangers.
ES Setif are considering that proposal, with manager Nabil Kouk previously admitting that he doesn’t want to lose Kendouci.
The Verdict: Sign
Postecoglou admitted last month that he would be willing to raid untapped markets for signings, and Kendouci certainly fits that bracket.
He is the highest-valued player in the Algerian top flight and is also hugely versatile in midfield. Those signs make a possible move to Celtic promising, along with the fact that he is still in the early years of his career.
With Rangers also being linked, pipping their rivals to Kendouci’s services could make it an extremely shrewd move from the Hoops in years to come if they win the transfer battle, should the midfielder’s stock continue to rise.
